No matter what came after it, The Puli hotel remains one of the most talked about hotels in Shanghai thanks to its strikingly gorgeous lobby and top-notch restaurants, even getting a nod in Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians books. Once inside, you’re ushered into a calm and beautiful space with its own library, an elegant tea house and even a lounge from which guests can peep – at eye level – the temple on the summit of Jingshan Park’s majestic Coal Hill.
